Let’s look a little closer
A stretched rubber band moves back and forth after a gentle pluck. The moving band makes nearby air vibrate, and sound travels through the air to our ears.
Resting a fingertip lightly on the band can stop its movement and shorten the note. Lift your finger and pluck again to start another vibration.
Some vibrations are too small or too fast to see clearly. The box guitar gives you a movement you can watch as well as hear.
